Norman Thompson

Norman played a major part in the formation of Newquay Town Council and was the first Mayor. 

At that time, Newquay Town Council was made up of 20 Independent Council members, but over the years POLITICS HAVE BEEN INTRODUCED with damaging results and the results are here now for everyone to see.  On the 3rd of May 2007 there is an opportunity for voters who live in Newquay to demonstrate and say THIS HAS GOT TO STOP. and do it via the ballot box.  The only way that you and Norman can reverse the trend towards more and more Party Politicking and personal interests is to refuse to vote for any candidate who offers himself to stand under a political party banner. i.e. Conservatives and Liberal Democrats. 

You may have noticed that in the recent press there have been several resignations from these parties.  Norman is a free spirit and thinks and acts independently.  Norman will will listen to you and your concerns and take them to the council chamber on your behalf.  Are you aware that the money which is taken out of your purse by way of Council Tax and topped up by over £250.000 (a quarter of a million pounds) for the Town Council’s budget is being frittered away and you are NOT GETTING GOOD VALUE FOR YOUR HARD EARNED CASH?

  Which one of the present councillors has worked on your behalf?    NOT ONE!  NORMAN WILL GET A BETTER DEAL FOR YOU. but he cannot do it on his own  HE NEEDS YOUR HELP GIVE HIM YOUR VOTE it is necessary to him and it is precious to you.   If there is only one INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE in EDGCUMBE SOUTH vote for Norman and him alone.If you vote for a political candidate you WILL LOSE YOUR RIGHTS.  Party candidates can only vote for what the party wants them to do, they do not have any choice. REMEMBER.On the 3rd of May 2007 exercise your democratic right to make a choice and VOTE INDEPENDENT.   CHOOSE NORMAN THOMPSON.  NO votes for political parties in Local Government. They will soon get the message.
